AIAA was created in 1963 by combining two professional societies, one that started in 1930 and one that started in 1932. The purpose to promote professionalism among those involved in the art, science, and technology of aeronautics and astronautics. The Texas A&M University AIAA Student Chapter extends this mission statement to include promoting leadership, fellowship, and education for anyone who has an interest in the aerospace industry through student participation. Our chapter is over 100 members strong and growing. We hold biweekly technical seminars, host industry speakers, and provide our members with opportunities to tour aerospace research labs and industry engineering departments.
